Members followed the birth of modernist architecture in Southern California with an afternoon guided tour focusing on the International Style, brought over from the German Bauhaus School. Stops along the way included Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, Rudolph Schindler’s McAlmon House, and a tour of the Neutra VDL house with Richard Neutra’s son, Dion Neutra. The visit culminated with a reception at the 1938 Ross House by Raphael Soriano hosted by its owner, architectural historian Christine Kantner.
