Name: Espree Devora aka “the girl who gets it done”
Briefly describe what you do: I’m a podcaster and community builder in the tech and startup industry. Host of Women in Tech Podcast and founder of WeAreLATech. My shows have been featured on the homepages of Spotify and Apple. I’ve traveled to over 100 countries celebrating women in tech globally. My community work in Los Angeles tech helped propel the city to be the top 3rd startup city in the world.
Path not taken: Dream path, to one day publish an internationally best selling impactful business book.
What’s a metaphor to describe your creative process? My creative vibe is Bohemian Business Backpacking Skateboarder
I tend to get my best ideas and breakthroughs by: I tend to get my best ideas and breakthroughs traveling the world without a plan or a cell phone.
Current read or listen:

Something new you’ve discovered in the past year that now you can’t live without:I wanted to answer that I discovered self love this past year and can’t live without it… but also Dragon fruit smoothies while traveling Vietnam and LA’s Erewhon secret: Hailey Bieber soft serve with strawberry glaze.
What person or piece of creative work has had an impact on your own?
I admire James Clear’s book Atomic Habits. He has such a connective clean presence on his social and impactful concise writing. His fluid work processes are something remarkable to be emulated. Also shout out to Mom for showing me taking risks and following my dream is the only way to live. She continually reminds me, “every no is one step closer to yes.”
Best part of what I do: I consider myself to be “an artist of human connection”. Everything I do is about creating meaningful connections for others.
Hardest part of what I do: Stamina is the hardest part of what I do.. I’ve been at this for 10+ years and staying consistent, setting boundaries and maintaining endurance isn’t always easy.
What are you excited about right now? I am most excited to do a lot more spontaneous travel.
There is not enough conversation about what women have achieved— across professional industries but particularly in tech. I started the Women In Tech podcast to share real stories about what’s possible, interviewing women around the world about their career achievements, obstacles they’ve overcome, and how they got to where they are today.
What are you working on next? Me! I’ve had my company 12 years now; which has two big podcasts, Women in Tech and WeAreLATech, plus several in-person events to bring together the Los Angeles tech community. This may sound like a bunch of LA woo woo jargon, but the business people I admire most, share an active study and mastery of self. So I have been focusing on meditation, breath work, working on boundaries and perspective, so I can continue to shine on.
Life hack: I’ve always said, “Your intuition is your oracle”. We have this internal GPS system and the more I tune into my intuition the easier life can be. Also, I know this may sound bias… working out of Neuehouse is a true life hack. I feel so productively at peace sitting and striving in all the creative corners Neuehouse offers me. From the perfect warm hues to the friendly smiles and yummy food, Neuehouse inspires progress. Not just saying this, I truly love it.
