Through the Lens:
Conclave

Breaking down the opening scene with screenwriter Peter Straughan, editor Nick Emerson and composer Volker Bertelmann.

With the Academy Awards less than a month out, Members at NeueHouse Madison Square and Hollywood were invited to private screenings of Conclave, the Oscar-nominated political thriller directed by Edward Berger. Ahead of the screening, we sat down with screenwriter Peter Straughan, editor Nick Emerson and composer Volker Bertelmann to discuss storytelling and the subtle mechanics of tension for our latest Through The Lens.

Members in New York got to hear from the filmmakers in person at post-screening panel with Bertelmann, Emerson, with costume designer Lisy Christi, and producer Mike Jackman in conversation about the collaboration and craft that shaped the film.
